I first became aware of the Scottish Colourists when I was a student. I marveled at the Cadell portraits and the Peploe Still life and Iona landscapes. Hunter and Fergusson came along a little later, and it was the bold expressive Hunter Still life paintings, that drew me back to Kelvingrove again and again. So, here are the ‘Footsteps’. A light-hearted look (or interpretation) – seen through the eyes of a painter working almost 100 years later.
